Garcinia cambogia is a genus of plants native to Asia, America, Australia, tropical and southern Africa, and Polynesia. The number of species is highly debated, with various sources acknowledging from 50 to about 300 species in the genus. Often, plants in this genus are called soap trees, mangosteens, vines, or the ambiguous "monkey fruit."

How does it work?

Garcinia cambogia is an extract from the Malabar tamarind tree native to Asia and Africa. It has many different health benefits, but one of the most interesting is the ability to do so. This is great for dieters because they eat less but continue to provide the body with enough energy to help the body break down all fat cells. It also blocks citrate lyase, an enzyme that converts carbohydrates into fat and sugar. Therefore, any fat consumed now does not enter the cells but is spread out as excess waste.
